Learning breathing exercises for your CRPS can help you relax, stimulate your blood flow and can bring more oxygen to your muscles and joints which can help you with your pain.
Buteyko Breathing is a technique to help you improve your breathing, it will help to open airways and improve blood circulation. Buteyko Breathing can be used as part of your self care plan for your health and wellbeing.
Our speaker, Janet Winter, is a Breathing educator (Buteyko) for more than 10 years. This 1 hour educational talk on Thursday 25 February, will help you understand not only about Buteyko Breathing but you’ll also learn why breathing is important as part of your pain self management.

How Will The Webinar Work
The Buteyko Breathing webinar will be run using Zoom online. You will all be muted at the start so there’s no background noise during the webinar.
However you will be able to ask Janet your questions at the end and ask questions in the chat box. The chat function being monitored as well during the event.
This event will not be recorded due to not having permission from attendees.

About The Speaker – Janet Winter
Ihave been a Breathing educator (Buteyko) for more than 10 years, and qualified as a posture specialist (Egoscue) more recently.
I help people recover from asthma, allergies, sinusitis, anxiety, sleep problems, headaches, IBS chronic fatigue (ME/CFS) and more, by improving their dysfunctional breathing.
Disfunctional breathing is very often stress related, and it can stimulate the sympathetic fight or flight response and deplete the body of life-giving oxygen.
Good breathing calms the nervous system in general and also stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, or the rest and digest rather than the sympathetic response. Buteyko breathing education gently retrains a disordered breathing pattern and helps people naturally recover from breathing-related health problems, so it could be useful for CRPS.
I was involved in healthcare/biomedical research for 30 years although previously in a very different role: before training as a Breathing educator, I spent 20 years in drug discovery looking for new painkillers for a major pharmaceutical company based in a London Institute.
I worked as a neuroscientist and cell biologist, directing a team of bench scientists. (So I am Dr Janet Winter but I am not a medical doctor – I have a PhD in Neuroscience) I authored or co-authored more than 50 journal articles and reviews on my research.
It wasn’t pharmaceuticals that helped me recover from my own health problems (ME/CFS migraines, IBS), but Buteyko breathing and Egoscue postural alignment were very useful. Feedback on Webinar (January 2021) for my posture colleagues, mainly USA, Canada and UK)
