The Burning Nights CRPS Support 8th Annual National CRPS Conference is announced for 2022! The Burning Nights CRPS Support 8th annual CRPS conference is aimed 2022 will be held on Saturday 26 November 2022. Our annual conferences are aimed at patients living with complex regional pain syndrome, their families and friends to help give them support and to help their understanding of the condition, treatment options and more. The full one day conference is to help those living with CRPS and their families to provide them with the latest information and support and to help their understanding of the condition, treatment options and more. The conference is also available to health professionals and healthcare students. This year our CRPS conference is being held on SATURDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2022 and due to a very generous donation from an Estate, will be at the Novotel Edinburgh Park. We will also be holding a very informal get together on the Friday 25 November in the evening in the bar area. DETAILS DATE: Friday 25 November 2022 (evening) - we will be having a very informal get together in the evening of the 25th November in the bar area. Saturday 26 November 2022 - conference day TIME: Friday 25 November 2022 - this will be a very informal get together in the bar area where you can come and go when you would like any time from 7.30pm onwards Saturday 26 November 2022 - We start at 9.30am with registration starting at 08.45am and finish around 4.00pm / 4.30pm. However you are able to come and go as you wish. COST: Conference is FREE for CRPS patients and their families* On the day of the conference (Saturday 26 November 2022) Lunch and refreshments will be included free of charge. However please do consider making a donation either as a one off gift or as a regular donation, by clicking the button below: WHERE: Novotel Edinburgh Park, 15 Lochside Ave, Edinburgh EH12 9DJ CONFERENCE LUNCH & REFRESHMENTS:  Both lunch (sandwiches including vegetarian option, salad bar and fries) and refreshments are free and form part of the day's event. If your dietary requirements fall out of this we ask that you contact the hotel direct with your requests. THE HOTEL: The Novotel Edinburgh Park is deemed a disabled friendly hotel. The conferencing area has a flat entrance leading from the main hotel reception. The area has a mixture of carpet and tiles. This is a flat area which is suitable for wheelchairs and scooters. There are accessible toilet facilities in the hotel and also in the conference area. The hotel is easily accessible from the local train station and is two-minute walk from Edinburgh Park rail station and a 12-minute ride to the city centre. The nearest airport is Edinburgh International Airport which is 4km away. PARKING: There are parking spaces available at the hotel and this includes a limited number of Blue Badge spaces. There are obviously not a large number of these places available. The parking is part of the conference and when you arrive in reception please let them know that you are in the car park and that you are attending the conference. Our speakers will always have working knowledge of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, living with CRPS or disability due to CRPS. Dr Sue Peacock - Sleep and CRPS Dr Peacock will be speaking about sleep and CRPS. Many CRPS patients have trouble with sleeping, Dr Peacock will give a talk on getting a better night’s sleep. Ian Taverner aka ‘Mr Cookfulness’ - “Can Nutritional Cooking be Easy, Delicious & Happy Cooking?” Information on how you can cook, nutrition and what it really means in simple steps. Interactive segment on how you can use nutritional ingredients. Ian Taverner, Mr Cookfulness, is all about making cooking accessible, adaptable, fun, exciting and a huge boost for your physical and mental health. Ian is the author of Cookfulness, the first ever cookbook designed specifically for people, like him, who suffer with disability and/or illness, to help them not only get into the kitchen and cook, but WANT to cook, LOVE to cook and get the amazing therapeutic value cooking can provide. Functional impairment, limb weakness, cognitive difficulties, tremors, seizures, chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression brain fog, panic attacks, all can and do make cooking feel an impossible dream or nightmare, certainly not something you can enjoy, certainly not something you can love, certainly not therapeutic! Ian runs cooking and creative therapy workshops, programmes and shows and his mission now is help as many people who find it hard in the kitchen, to turn that pain and anxiety into happiness and joy.
