A-Z Fundraising Ideas

Charities nationwide rely heavily upon fundraising, and Burning Nights is no different.

Without our dedicated volunteers and fundraisers, we would not be able to help the people who need us the most.

This is why we understand how difficult it can become to think of new and exciting ways to raise money for your chosen charity. From Awareness Days to Skydiving, there can be many ways to get yourselves and your family and friends involved with fundraising - every little bit helps to make a massive difference to people's lives.

Below we have listed some exciting fundraising ideas for you to sink your teeth into - and who knows, perhaps you'll find your next big charity event along the way.

A-Z Fundraising Ideas

A - Awareness Days: An awareness day is a great way to encourage people to take action, and for those hoping to raise money for their chosen charities, it is easy to participate too!

By creating posters, spreading awareness through social media posts, or even attending events, you are actively helping the cause.

B - Bingo: A bingo night fundraiser is a fun and inclusive way to raise money. Available to people of all ages, a bingo night can be an affordable alternative for many volunteers. It puts the "fun" back into fundraiser!

C - Car Wash: Another cost-effective fundraising idea is the classic 'car wash'. Simple and easy to organise, ask people in your local community to pledge some money, and get them all involved.

Soak up the suds and start scrubbing; it all makes a difference!

D - Dog Day: Nothing makes people smile as much as a man's best friend! This is why utilising a 'dog day' event could be an exciting way to raise money.

To get started, all you need to do is hire a suitable venue and advertise your upcoming event. Although costly, this fundraising idea could be a new take on the tried and tested alternative.

E - Easter Egg Hunt: Although constrained to a seasonal event, an easter egg hunt can bring family and friends together and the wider community - plus, any children would love to get involved; it's free chocolate!

Perhaps you could turn this event into something even bigger. Sell tickets, hire a venue, or host it at your home if needs be. You can hide the eggs around your venue and let the fun begin! Two little girls hunting for easter eggs

G - Gaming/Livestreams: If you're particularly tech-savvy, or you have an avid interest in video gaming, then this could be a perfect solution to raise money by doing something that you love.

For the event, you could throw in some quirky extras, such as inverting your controls or inviting friends to play alongside you. It is an effective way to gain more donations!

H - Head Shave: Could you Brave the Shave? This common fundraising idea helps people come together under one cause. You can do this as a team and make it a group challenge, or you could even get your friends, family, and work colleagues to sponsor you on this journey.

I - Ironman Challenge: If you're feeling particularly adventurous, your next fundraising event could be the formidable Ironman Challenge.

In an extensive Triathalon-style race, participants are expected to swim 2.4 miles, cycle for 112 miles, and finish the event with a 26.2-mile run - all within the 17-hour time limit.

Although this may not be everyone's cup of tea, if it's yours, you can encourage family, friends, and more to sponsor you through this gruelling challenge.

J - Jumble Sale: Who doesn't love a good jumble sale? One person's junk can become another's treasure, so why not utilise this as an opportunity to raise funds for charity?
