Rachel joined Burning Nights CRPS Support as a Trustee in 2024, bringing both lived experience and a deep passion for supporting others affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
Following a serious car accident in 2011, Rachel sustained life-changing injuries and was later diagnosed with CRPS in her right ankle. Like many, her journey with the condition began with uncertainty, and it was during this time that she first reached out to Burning Nights CRPS for support. Since then I have had a Dorsal Root Ganglion stimulator fitted to help with my pain. Following a fall in my garden winter 2025 I broke my affected leg and the complex regional pain syndrome spread to the entirety of my leg.
Through attending the charity’s monthly online support groups, Rachel found connection, understanding and reassurance. With growing confidence and encouragement from the community, she went on to train as a Befriending Volunteer, offering support to others navigating similar challenges.
Rachel is proud to now serve as a Trustee, using her experience to help shape and strengthen the charity’s work. She is passionate about ensuring that no one faces CRPS alone and is committed to helping the organisation continue to grow and support those who need it most.
